The new release by Hale Manor, The Land of College Prophets, has seven festival wins as of right now (Five of them from the B-movie awards including best picture) They boast that they have created the most elaborate prop in a low-budget underground film history. It is a comic book tale of two brawling, bar goers that belong to a guild of men known as the “College Prophets”. They awaken a gigantic, two-story tall, haunted wishing well (The Well That Ate Children). It begins pumping water into the ground causing the townspeople to go insane. Only with math, magic and violence can they attempt to shut down the well and restore things back to what they consider normal. But they’ll need help from their friends because not only has the Well come alive, but it has turned other Prophets evil and they now fight on its side. The film is like Batman meets Pi meets the Wonder boys. Yes, it’s weird, but utterly captivating.
